JEREMY LAING RTW A/W 2012

Clearly the work of a skilled photographer.
Wasn't going to mess with NYFW this season, because I'm crazy busy with the rest of my life, but ended up going to Jeremy Laing anyway. I wasn't exactly in the best spot for photos. Second row—behind the stunning Kate Lanphear though! I gazed longingly at the back of her head, wishing she would teach me how to be as cool as her.

I've enjoyed Jeremy Laing's collections for the past few seasons, but this one didn't do much for me. Don't get me wrong, I'd wear most of it in a heartbeat, but it doesn't really bring anything new to the table. Big square shoulders, sheer drapey black, massive wedges. Largely black, with a few all-white looks mixed in. Even though that pretty much describes my personal uniform 90% of the time, I'm tired of seeing it repeated over and over on the runway. Isn't anyone else ready for something new?
